Saša Matjašič was born in 1955 in Pula. He graduated mechanical engineering from the Faculty of mechanical engineering and naval architecture in Zagreb in 1980. After nine years of working in engineering, in 1992 he turns to art, primarily to applied art. In this period he designs objects with Istrian symbols and the motives of Pula from the Roman times.
